Pima Behavioral health as an outpatient psychiatric clinic offering general mental health services for client’s ages 16 and up.
At Pima Behavioral Health, find a team of competent Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners capable of treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions including: Depression (Major Depressive Disorder), Anxiety Disorders (Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Specific Phobias), Bipolar Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Schizophrenia and Other Psychotic Disorders, Personality Disorders (Borderline, Avoidant, Narcissistic), Substance Use Disorders, Adjustment Disorders, Insomnia, Grief, Stress, Anger Management.
We specialize in medication management and also provide mainly supportive therapy. Our clinicians believe that addressing mental health issues goes beyond just medications. We are committed to getting to know you as a person and providing a holistic approach to your care and treatment goals.
Our providers and staff care and we act like it! We have built our practice on treating each and every one of our clients like we would like to be treated. If you need something, we take care of it. If you call us, we call you back in a reasonable amount of time. We listen to our clients and understand it is you who chose us to care for you. This is a privilege we take seriously. We practice safely, compassionately, and effectively.

Appointments and Scheduling

Please call our office at 520-355-1122 to make an appointment or feel free to visit us on the web at www.pimabh.com and click the “Get Appointment” button at the top of the page. After you complete a very brief information form, a member of our team will call you back. We will normally contact you within 24 hours if not same-day.
Pima Behavioral Health does not require you to have a referral to be seen at our clinic, but we recommend checking with your insurance company to make sure they do not require you to have one.
During your first visit, your provider will conduct a thorough psychiatric assessment, inform you of your diagnosis, and work with you to develop a treatment plan based on your goals. We may prescribe medications, provide you with resources, and/or refer you to an outpatient psychotherapist.
We do not do rushed appointments at Pima Behavioral Health. Our initial evaluations are slotted for one hour while follow-up visits are slotted for 30 minutes. While we may not take the full time, our focus remains on quality care over quantity.

Insurance and Payment

We accept most commercial insurances and Medicare. We are in-network with United, Blue Cross Blue Shield. Aetna, Humana, and Cigna. Unfortunately, we are not able to accept AHCCCS or Tricare at this time.
Our initial evaluations are $350.00 and follow up appointments are $150.00
We are happy to offer payment plans as a convenience to our clients.

Financial policies are provided in writing at the time of intake. We require 48 business hours advance notice to cancel your appointment outside of extenuating circumstances. There is an $80 late cancellation/no-show fee that may be assessed for missed appointments or failure to cancel with advance notice.

Medication Management

You do not have to be on medications currently to receive an evaluation. Your provider will utilize their evaluation and clinical judgement to recommend medications if appropriate for your condition.
We ask that you contact our office with 7 days advance notice to request refills. While we make every effort to refill your medications in a timely manner, we cannot guarantee same day refills. If you use a mail-order pharmacy, 10 days advance notice is recommended. Please take an active part in your care and do not wait until you are out of medications to contact your provider.

Therapy and Providers

Our providers offer primarily CBT-based supportive therapy that may include other modalities such as motivational interviewing and interpersonal psychotherapy.
Our providers a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and fully licensed as Certified Nurse Practitioners by the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
Yes! If you would like to request a specific provider, please ask at the time of making your appointment and we will be happy to help.
As a courtesy to our clients, we offer both in-person and telehealth visits.

Crisis and Emergency

We do not offer emergency care and recommend the use of the above resources if you need immediate help.
We are open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. If you call us after hours, please leave a message so a member of our team can contact you as soon as possible when we return to the office.
Absolutely! We follow strict HIPAA guidelines to ensure electronic, verbal, and written information stays secure and safe.
Our records are computerized and kept safe through a multi-faceted approach that includes encryption, access controls, secure communication protocols, and regular security audits by our electronic health record provider.

Telehealth & Accessibility

We recommend a stable wi-fi connection for telehealth. You may use your cellphone, but often, a large device like a desktop or laptop works better. Please sign in to your providers waiting room 5 minutes prior to your appointment. You can find out waiting rooms at:

Yes, our clinic, offices, and restrooms are accessible to our clients with disabilities.

New Patient Information

Our team will provide you with access to our patient portal to complete your forms. These include clinical history forms, demographics, financial policies, and releases of information for your other providers. To make this easier for you, we recommend filling out these forms on a laptop or a computer and NOT on your phone.
Please arrive 5-10 minutes early for your appointment unless told otherwise by our staff. If you have forms to complete or other needs, our staff my ask you to come earlier.
Please bring photo ID and your insurance card with you to your appointments. If you are on a lot of medications or if you have medication questions, it can be helpful to bring all of your medications with you as well. Please be sure to bring any assistive devices that may assist you with communication including hearing aids, glasses, etc.
